Cooper is a big, brave dog when there's a fence between him and other dogs. Tonight, we found out he's not quite so brave when the dog he likes to woof at makes it into his own yard.
Our yard is completely fenced, so we often leave him out for a bit by himself. He usually only stays out for 15-20 minutes at a time and will come knock on the door. Yes, he literally knocks on the door with his head when he wants in!
Tonight, Mr. Polka Dot let him out and 5 minutes later we both jumped and ran to the door when we heard him yelping and letting out what is his "I'm hurt cry." I had no idea what was going on. We both ran to the door to see him cowering against the front door with the dog out back nipping at him.
I opened the door and Mr. Polka dot shooed the dog away and went out back to investigate. It turns out the dog had made a hole in the fence and apparently decided to come visit and be a little bully about it in the process. Mr. Polka Dot chased him back through the fence and warned him to leave our baby alone. ;)
These dogs do nothing but bark all. day. long. If they're outside, they're barking! Cooper doesn't like their barking, so he will go out back and bark at them which I think is Cooper language to SHUT UP. Tonight though, he got a little scare.
He was really scared, but there wasn't a mark on him that we could find. He sat on my lap a few minutes and then was ready to play in no time.
Tomorrow, Mr. Polka Dot will be fixing the fence and Mr. Cooper will be glad he came through his trauma unscathed and his mommy felt so bad for him that she fed him some extra turkey for a snack.
